Position Title: Systems Engineer
Location: Adelaide CBD
Contract Duration: 6 months (Full-time)
Pay Rate:$70 per hour + Super
Industry Background: Preferred experience in Defence, Rail, or similar industries
A well-respected government department is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support critical infrastructure projects by introducing best practices, refining processes, and enhancing system integration. This role presents an exciting opportunity to apply systems engineering methodologies to improve design, implementation, and operations of major projects.
Key Responsibilities:

• Apply structured systems engineering methodologies to optimise project execution and lifecycle management.
• Develop and refine engineering processes to enhance efficiency and reduce project costs.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to define requirements and implement innovative solutions.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety frameworks, including Safety in Design (SID) and Sustainability in Design (SuiD).
• Utilise data analytics and system modelling tools to improve decision-making and asset performance.
• Foster collaboration with stakeholders to successfully integrate system engineering practices into project delivery.
• Support a culture of continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and implementing process enhancements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in applying systems engineering principles to complex infrastructure or utility projects.
• Strong understanding of systems integration, requirements management, and lifecycle engineering.
• Proven ability to identify inefficiencies and drive process improvements.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven problem-solving.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and digital engineering tools (desirable).
• Project management experience or certification(desirable).

• Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s licence.
• Ability to obtain necessary clearances, including police checks and immunisations as required.
• Flexible working arrangements may be required to meet business needs.
